Professional way

Born on November 17, 1952 in the city of Lida, Grodno region. From 1959 to 1969 he studied at school №4 in Gomel. In 1969 he entered the Faculty of Physical Education of the Gomel State University, from which he graduated in 1973.

From 1974 he worked at the Department of Athletics and Skiing, where he rose from a teacher to an associate professor of the department. In addition to teaching, during this period he was actively involved in coaching, trained a large number of highly qualified athletes, not only members of the National Team of the Republic of Belarus, but also the USSR.

In 1988 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences in the specialty "Theory and methodology of physical education, sports training, health-improving and adaptive physical culture." In 1993, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.

Since 1993 - Head of the Department of Health and Medical Physical Culture. In 2003 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. In 2004, by the decree of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus, he was awarded the honorary title of professor in the specialty "Pedagogy".

Author of more than 220 scientific and methodological works in the field of health-improving physical culture and sports training.

Supervises pedagogical practice, training of undergraduates and postgraduates in the specialty.

Awards

  • For merits in the development of physical culture and sports, educational and training and educational work on the preparation of high-class athletes August 23, 2000 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 458 was awarded the Honorary title "Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Belarus."
  • In 2002 he was awarded the honorary title "Laureate of the Skaryna Readings of 2002" for the cycles of work on physical rehabilitation and health promotion of children and adolescents.
  • In 2007 and 2017 he was elected a deputy of the I and II Congress of Scientists of the Republic of Belarus.
